 Google had to do something to compete with facebook and twitter other than just listing them on top of search results.. they came up with 2 new services, + and +1.. starting the +  

When i interviewed @hindrelations the other day for my thesis.. she foresaw it saying “the next social media boom will be utilizing the technology of of smart phones” and that’s what google did 

google came back to the big bangs, for facebook, twitter, digg, aaaaand skype.. and other twitter services.. not to mention solving few issues you had with all.. too many username and passwords, so many OAUTH to do, chatting in twitter timeline.. and a lot more

Hangouts

Hang outs is their punch in the face for SKYPE.. what really caught my interest.. well they called it “hangouts”, the very next big thing, and to beat that, with another next big thing,  would not be less than teleportation, you get to have video hang outs, thats the skype srike, not only video conferencing, but group video hangouts. and who ever speak loudest take center stage sweeeeeeet!

 

Circles and InstantUpload

circles are like the friends lists you make on facebook and twitter, like when you upload with “instant upload” it goes to the circles you are uploading them to.. they described it as.. taking photos and videos are cool, but uploading them is not, and they solved that with instant upload from your smart phone.. it only goes to circles you decide.. here are some picutres

sparks im not sure if i understood it very well.. its the read later services you get in twitter.. instapaper and stuff.. only its all in one place..  for the ast 2 years i was too busy to read things out.. other than my thesis papers.. maybe thats why i didnt understood it ;D

HUDDLE

Huddle is the group chat, its more like channels on back on IRC days, COOL so you dont get to chat on your time line any more or with slow DMs 

GOOGLE+1

and with google+1.. you get to +1 things you like.. not as RSVP, as in DIGG.. you DIGG not any more you will +1-ing things all day.. bye bye tweeting things you dig.. you can even place the code on your site too :) so people can +1 you too 

after all that.. and i still didnt get my + invitation where is the justice in this world ;D

Thesis Acknowledgement

every body now knows im doing my thesis well i thought of sharing this part of it.. for now.. showing gratitude to people whom helped made it happen.. here we go:

At the very beginning, before tanking whom ever helped, assisted, mentored, and taught me, to come up with this research. I would to dedicated this work, to my mother, who’s doing an operation right now while I’m writing this section. A true lady that dedicated her life to me, her only son. An honest prayer, echos in a world smothered with love, and perfect red roses; wishing you a fast recovery, and appreciating your endeavor for making me the man who I’m, and for all the chances that I had, that you made them happened.

I thank Allah for completing this research, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to my KMBS supervisor “Dr. Rodrigo Megalilaes”, for his guidance, support and valuable comments.

dont you just love a challenge, :)  

i really like how we call brick walls, and negative encounters as challenges, soooo positive.

as a KMBS (Kuwait Maastricht Business School – MSM’s Kuwait chapter) student we are required to do a thesis of our major. I’m a KU MIS graduate class of 03, and i chose my thesis title with Dr. Rodrigo of KMBS, the title is “Social media and Corporate Communication”.

The thesis is all about hmmm.. let me get it from the document it self “This research is not about how to market to these purchasing thirst group. This research is all about managing the flow of information from a B2C perspective, to FACEBOOK Fans, TWITTER Tweeps, or any other SM outlet, to build up a corporate reputation; and an army that swears legions to their brand. This research is a corporate guide to prevent social media suicide. This research is dedicated for corporates who wants to have an army of loyal SNS users, to those who started Social media departments, or hired social media specialists, or even thinking about it. This research is dedicated to you.” 

how cool is that huh! 

the hunt for interviewees began, i really wanna meet couple SM celebrities, not just people who tweet a lot, i want opinion leaders, in all these fields:

  • business (most important)
  • IT (my major :) lazim arezza ;D)
  • politics
  • law
  • health
  • personal development

each field is huge by it self, hope i get to interview 15 people at least.

well not 3 out of each field naaaaaah, 10 with business perspective, and a pioneer or two in every other field.

so im thinking to contact them with this format (whucha think?):

“Salam,

im doing my MBA thesis on social media and corporate communication. and mashalla you have stated your presence in social media which is the reason why you made my list of inteviewee. 

i was wondering if you can honor me with an interview, we will discuss few topics regarding social media, general and legal issues can be faced for corporate that uses social. i can send you the topics in advanced if you like yet the questions as requested by KMBS will derived from the topics based on you specialty 

interview should be recorded as prerequisite from my school KMBS, all discussed topics and issues will be confidential and can only be used for thesis purposes. the interview wont take more than 60 minutes and it can be weather in arabic or english 

i will send all the topics we will discuss once approved

dont you think its too formal, hehehe well I gotta be to get their attention and show my seriousness about it. 
I have already contacted few tweeps, fans, and business owners, I hope they dont blow me off :) (did i say it too loud) or they’re not leaving for the summer vacation any time soon, come on guys relax kuwait’s heat is hmmm is well its good for tanning ;D
